As a relationship expert the question I’m often examining is: Why do we fight most with those we love best? Exploring why couples fight and helping people, partners, and families to understand and overcome their differences and conflicts animates my life’s work. It’s what led me to establish my Sydney-based therapy clinic, Heath Group Practice, write a widely acclaimed non-fiction book “Relationship Reset” and facilitate my online program Fight Less Love More.When our relationships are not working, it can feel as though our lives are not working. Humans are social creatures who are biologically wired to be in relationships, but often, we need help to cultivate healthy and loving unions. I work with clients both in person and online to improve the quality of their lives by removing obstacles, understanding how their mindset and behaviour are currently impacting them and where it may have been shaped in childhood. This helps them remove the sadness, fear, anxiety, anger, and even the conditions that create couple conflict, guiding them towards more harmonious lives and fulfilling relationships. I’m adept at facilitating conversations many couples are afraid to have. Expenditure, financial power imbalances, sole earner/new parent pressures and finances around divorce and separation can suffocate relationships and turn contentment into conflict in a heartbeat. I also share my expertise with financial institutions and corporates (like NAB & HCF) so they can a better serve their clients.Since childhood I have been compelled to understand how human minds operate. It led me to attain Honours in Psychology at UNSW in Sydney, before heading to London. Here I was invited to be one of four candidates training as a couples psychotherapist at the world-renowned Tavistock Relationships, in their 4-year Masters program. I was then to work there with couples, as a tutor, lecturer, and in their Divorce and Separation Unit. I am published academically, was vice-president of the Couple, Child, and Family Psychotherapy Association of Australasia. I am on MamaMia’s expert health panel and am a frequent contributor on TV, podcasts, radio & print.When I’m not resetting relationships, I’m hanging with my partner, my two amazing daughters and stepdaughter, and my loving 4-legged besties. Beaches and parks fill me with wonder and awe. Weight training in my local park reminds me how little I like weight training. Playing rock music loudly in my car causes me to move like no-one's watching.
