At Lockheed I've been moving back and forth between a few things and sometimes managing to bring them together: geospatial technology, health IT, and security. It suits my attention span.Before that ... I graduated Angola (Indiana) High School 1970 (Go Hornets!) Decided that I’d had enough of hotdish and headed out East to Ohio State, rather than Tri-State (now Trine University) where my dad and grandfather had attended. They got over their disappointment with my choice (mostly) and started making jokes about my sense of direction, as I picked geography as a major. I worked at Leica for a while, then, after one too many cracks from the engineers in the department, I decided “If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em” and got a master’s degree in engineering from Virginia Tech.After grad school, I worked locally at Mingus Engineering. A small place to make your debut into the engineering world, but I learned a good deal from the gang there, whose talents could be intimidating. Eventually, I said goodbye to Sue Graham and her pork pie hat because it was time to move on up.Conrail was great while I was there. Yes, I’m still (!) a little bitter about how that ended, but at least it pushed me to further expand my range, with the graduate work in IT security at Carnegie Mellon (distance learning, so no fence painting for me). Then geography reared its head again, and I did a certificate at Rutgers in GIS. And now I’m here, at Lockheed Martin. I’ve met a lot of folks over the years – hoping to hear from you soon!
