My fundraising philosophy is always rooted in gratitude and respect, never guilt or harassment.

Engaged and built relationships with donors to cultivate major gifts including the largest donation in the nonprofit’s history. Assembled a stellar team for fundraising, PR, marketing, resource development, volunteer and events coordination. Increased 4th-quarter donations 23% above pre-pandemic levels.Improved the culture of the development department as well as its communication and collaboration with other departments within the organization.

Launched a nonprofit division of the digital marketing agency. Guided every new client—businesses and nonprofits—to tell their story and call to action prospective and existing customers and donors.

Started as a consultant and was invited on staff to manage media relations and communications during the Covid-19 pandemic. Co-created the “Every Family Deserves Hope” tagline to show addiction recovery leads to family restoration.

Leadership roles during my 15-year tenure included Development/Fundraising, Public Relations, Operations, Programs and Services. Contributions included fostering a positive culture, promoting best practices, increasing leadership diversity, enhancing staff engagement, expanding professional development opportunities, removing internal communication silos, strengthening community partnerships, improving corporate engagement, and raising public awareness and support, which grew annual fundraising from $3 to $10 million. Programs and services helped men, women and children overcoming hunger, homelessness, addiction and abuse. Led and empowered a diverse team of directors for programs and services in Jefferson, Blount and Cullman Counties. Established and maintained mutually beneficial relationships with affinity nonprofits to ensure best practices.

Oversight for 150+ employees and 1,000+ volunteers. Removed communication silos and facilitated efforts to promote interdepartmental collaboration. Improved team morale by opening communication channels and providing professional growth opportunities. Established systems and procedures for efficiency and conservation of time and resources.

Fundraising efforts nearly tripled annual income from $3+ to $10+ million. Multi-channel marketing increased visibility and engagement. Corporate teams and civic groups were offered tailored opportunities to donate and volunteer. Integrated marketing communications strategically reached a wider audience and intentionally targeted existing audience for a greater return on investment.

Storytelling engaged donors, volunteers, and the media. Targeted messaging attracted new donors, cultivated existing donors, and reconnected lapsed donors. Reached more constituents in professional and civic networks.

Increased public awareness and improved internal and external communications. Launched the first employee newsletter and dynamic website.

Led volunteers to plan and implement weekly activities. community service, and special events for students.

Created activities and community for at-risk youth. Tripled Campus Life outreaches from two to seven schools. Fundraised for program staff and supported special events.

Recruited and trained volunteers and interns for outreach for Mount Carmel High School students.

Emcee and stage personality for crowd interaction and comic relief at weekend conferences and summer camps in 25-30 U.S. cities annually with 1,000 to 10,000 in attendance at each.

Promoted, launched and grew conferences in cities coast to coast including Castro Valley, CA, Denver, CO, Dallas-Fort Worth, TX, Fargo, ND, Tulsa, OK, Memphis, TN, Jackson, MS, Grand Rapids, MI, Charlotte, NC, Roanoke, VA, and Lakeland, FL.

Encouraged students and families to seek the Lord. Doubled student involvement in weekly activities. Supported construction mission trips to Central America.Coordinated and/or assisted with weekly activities and special events such as Bible studies, worship services, conferences, camps, retreats, outreaches, and mission trips.
