Working mainly as a radio presenter/broadcast engineer I built and commissioned the industry standard studio now in use including the IT/network infrastructure plus audio streaming to the DAB transmitter/web service. I carry out routine studio maintenance and remain the first point of contact for technical failure.I also attend various outside marketing events to raise the profile of the station including sales where required.

Head Barista Barnstaple/Company Head Barista Dec 2009 – Aug 2011 (Aug 2010 - Aug 2011 freelance) Boston Tea Party Group LTD BarnstapleAs well as the day to day duties in a busy coffee house, the Head Barista is responsible for all hot & cold beverages, maintaining a consistent high standard produced by the large team though staff training and on-going coaching. Other duties included stock-control, ordering & carefully managing margins. 2 days per week were spent in other stores training & developing new and existing staff, overseeing the FOH/beverages department of new stores & training new teams.

Working on site and in the workshop I would diagnose, repair/install/service all makes of traditional espresso machines, beans to cup machines, instant vending machines, pour and serve etc. Managing my own time I was self-sufficient, taking ownership of each job including aftercare. The role centred on customer service & support. Barista training was carried out on site and in our training facility. I trained a broad spectrum from menu development & costing, general café business consultation to a range of coffee science and practical barista training (New starters/top-up/latte art/advanced techniques)I have trained some prestigious establishments including Michael Caines’ 2 Michelin starred Gidleigh Park & Celebrity Tanners Restaurant in Plymouth.
