Litzi has been a certified Feldenkrais Practitioner since 1991. Prior to that she was a practising physiotherapist with many years experience in musculo skeletal rehabilitation in various hospitals and private practices across Sydney. In that time her patients included various members of the Olympic swimming team.She was drawn to Feldenkrais in the 1980s not only as a way of treating chronic pain but as a way of changing people’s dysfunctional habits of movement. She came to realise that she herself had a lack of awareness in the way that she moved and that with awareness, came the ability to change habitual patterns of movement that cause pain and discomfort. The Feldenkrais Method® facilitates learning movement, posture and breathing to ultimately increase the ease of range of movement, improve flexibility and coordination. The Feldenkrais Method® has also been found to be very effective in helping people with scoliosis.Litzi’s Feldenkrais clients have included ballet dancers, opera singers, musicians and athletes as well as people of all ages learning to deal with restricted movement, stiffness or pain. They include people with recurrent injury and pain and those simply wishing to improve their performance, posture and breathing. Litzi has also given a series of Awareness Through Movement® classes at the Conservatorium of Music for student musicians.Litzi was fortunate in spending 11 years working side by side with leading rheumatologists at the Arthritis and Pain Research Clinic at St Vincent’s Medical Centre in Darlinghurst until the unit was closed in 2010 to make way for a cancer research unit. On leaving St Vincent’s Medical Centre, Litzi moved her practice to Sydney Essential Health in Woollahra where she has been ever since. Litzi also practices one day a week out of the Dymocks building in the Sydney CBD.Litzi runs Awareness Through Movement® classes each Saturday at 5 Saber Street Bondi Junction (cnr Roe Street) from 9.15am to 10.15am.
