They are currently the Oral History Programs Manager at the National Public Housing Museum in Chicago, bolstering the museum’s community engagement strategies with their 2023 Fellowship in Residence at Chicago United for Equity. Their Master’s thesis about asian trans kinship can be heard at www.tidalflats.xyz. Liú organizes with the Chicago Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression and the Chicago Anti-War Committee, and lives in the 3rd ward and the 2nd police district of Chicago. Their intellectual ancestors and elders include Grace Lee Boggs, Ella Jo Baker, Audre Lorde, Octavia E. Butler, Robin D.G. Kelley, Saidiya Hartman, Stuart Hall, Cedric Robinson, and Antonio Gramsci."What are the words you do not yet have? What do you need to say? What are the tyrannies you swallow day by day and attempt to make your own, until you will sicken and die of them, still in silence?" -Audre Lorde“History is not the past. It is the stories we tell about the past. How we tell these stories--triumphantly or self-critically, metaphysically or dialectally--has a lot to do with whether we cut short or advance our evolution as human beings.”—Grace Lee Boggs
