Supporting a team to deliver an engaging and exciting HAF program for young people in Warrington.

Campaigning with various charities across the End Child Poverty Coalition to highlight poverty across the UK by providing written accounts, appearing in national and local media and lobbying decision makers.

Having started with Warrington Youth Zone in 2022, I originally set out as a 'multi-sports' youth workersupporting young people aged between 7-12 with various needs and social backgrounds, after thesummer of 2022 I moved on to the 'Aspire' program, running sessions with young people with complexneeds.In early 2023 I was asked to take on a session lead role back on the holiday club and HAF, whichinvolves line managing a team of 10, with an additional 5 young volunteers (14-18) to deliver a schoolholiday provision for up to 150 young people. Other responsibilities include food safety, responding tosafeguarding concerns and first aid.

Managing outreach, charity and volunteering for St Aidan’s College JCR, recruiting student volunteersfor various charities and initiatives across the County Durham region.

After the death of a peer due to drowning in 2018, I helped establish Teya’s Legacy, a youth-led water safety campaign which aims to raise awareness of key water safety messages and prevent drowning fatalities. Since it’s creation, we have reached thousands of young people with our water safety messages through social media and in person workshops and presentations.

During my year on the ONE campaign youth ambassador program, I campaigned against the reductionto the '0.7' (foreign aid spending). This involved writing press releases and lobbying MP's and ministers.

Helped to establish an online platform called Involved, which aims to utilise social media to to enable young people to give their views on government policy consultations. Co-authored a report for the Department of Food, Environment and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) that gave recommendations for effective youth engagement on environmental issues. Advised on policy in relation to the impacts of COVID on young people, the 2020 exam series and the Youth Investment Fund.

The Cooperative Foundation Youth Advisory group, known as the YAG is a group of young people from across the North West who come together to help the Co-op Foundation make decisions about distributing their funding.The group receives training on decision making, unconscious bias and communications skills to help them in their roles as YAG members. The group visits youth projects who’ve been funding by the Co-op foundation, participate in consultations around designing funding streams and much more.
