Liv Gardner is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of High Point University where she received degrees in Spanish and Broadcast Journalism on a Pre-Law track with a minor in Legal Studies. Liv is a 2024 Fulbright Scholar who currently serves the University of Cuenca in Cuenca, Ecuador as an English Teaching Assistant for public speaking and debate centered courses. She is passionate about racial justice and reforms within the current criminal justice system, and she hopes to attend law school after her time at High Point. Since the age of 16, Liv has been competing in state and national competitions for Mock Trial, performing criminal and civil cases in front of North Carolina Supreme Court Justices and litigators from across the country. She has been recognized seven times as Best Attorney for her efforts in trial competition and three times as Best Witness. In her years of competing, she has developed the foundational knowledge of legal statutes and practices in North Carolina, honed her ability to speak publicly, and gained exposure to various formats of professional and legal writing. Liv aspires to pursue a career in wrongful convictions or immigration litigation and in turn, create a more progressive and equitable society. She is committed to amending the misconceptions currently held about the American justice system and rebuilding trust between our society and its legal processes. In her free time, Liv enjoys growing her depth of knowledge through listening to true crime podcasts and indulging in popular literature, both accompanied by her favorite - an iced chai tea latte.
