My formal education is in Wealth Management and Accounting. I started my professional career in sales with Farmers Insurance. There I was quickly promoted to a coveted District Territory Manager role in Pittsburgh, PA. I excelled in this role managing several Farmer’s Independent Agency offices where the Foremost brand of products were sold direct to personal lines until I was presented with the chance to pursue my goal at that time of a career in the wealth management industry with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. Unfortunately I was among the nearly 60% nationally that do not successfully complete the Financial Advisor Associate Program and parted ways with MSSB on good terms in 2012.It was at this career crossroad that I decided to pursue my first entrepreneurial venture in the emerging boutique fitness industry when I formed CrossFit Luminary with a partner in 2012. I have enjoyed success in this endeavor both fiscally and personally by being able to help people improve their health and well-being. We provided full time and part time employment at two physical locations in West Michigan serving over 300 local clients and more in the virtual realm. In this role I have had the opportunity to fine tune my employee training and development skills as well as sales, digital marketing, business development, and client relationship management skills. I equate owning/operating a small business as my unofficial M.B.A.In 2018 I was presented the opportunity to get involved with the Fire Department at Grand Rapids Township as a Firefighter/EMT and have flourished in this role. I want to serve my community at the next level so I sold my interest in CrossFit Luminary in early 2019 in order to focus on developing a long term career in Public Service. My professional goal now is to provide emergency services to people in my community in a role as a Firefighter/EMT or Public Safety Officer. I hold Firefighter I&II and HAZ-MAT Operations Level Certificates, VFIS Drivers Training Certificate, and EMT-B Medical License for the State of Michigan. I recently completed the CPAT Firefighter Physical Ability Test and I believe I possess the physical and cognitive skills to be an excellent Firefighter as I continue to learn and develop in this vocation. I’m looking for a department who can recognize my talent and invest in developing me as a valuable asset to their team and help me get on the right track for a leadership role in the future.
