My issue areas of focus were Mental Health and Homelessness but my role included speech writing, attending events on Ben Allen’s behalf, briefings to the senator and to the public on bills passing or moving through the legislature, meeting with constituents, doing case work to assist constituents interfacing with government agencies, doing liaison with local institutions, and speaking at events on behalf of Senator Allen. The work we did was profound, and with the intention of helping all Californians and I am proud to have worked with his office. Coinciding with the Covid outbreak, I decided to use my own voice for artists, activists and other creative innovators who are engaged in making positive change to help promote their message and work to better our world.

While working at ICM (now CAA) I was exposed to the ways that studios market their products. I dealt with writers, scheduled client pitches and marketing plans with producers, studio executives, directors, and casting directors. I also reviewed and wrote in-depth notes on client screenplays and submissions for potential projects, followed up on client screenplay submissions to studios and production companies, and passed on opportunities for open writing and directing jobs. In the process, I was able to radically expand my network in the world of entertainment. Administrative responsibilities included rolling calls, managing agents’ calendars, client management, following up on contracts and deposits, reporting expenses, scheduling travel, And I survived

Did marketing data and analytics for clients like DJ Khaled, Joey Badass, TPain, and worked directly for the SVP of Product Development Alan Becker and Alan was an amazing mentor. While there I was an A&R, marketing, product development and distribution, project management and amusic industry jack of all trades. Two of the artists I brought in who ended up signing deals were Skepta and his label Boy Betta Know and 21 Savage, who signed with Sony just before his breakout.
