• Directly responsible for the architecture and design of the smallest, shipped smart phone on the market.• Worked with EE’s to optimally design and integrate electronics into phone packages.• Worked with manufacturing teams to develop assembly methods and fixtures to accurately assemble phone components.• Performed failure analysis on drop test results and implemented solutions to fix reliability issues.• Traveled to Asia for milestone builds and brainstormed assembly methods and problems.• Continued to lead and mentor colleagues on ProE master model techniques and top down assembly construction.• Worked with ID to transfer Alias surfaces into ProE to build a solid foundation for downstream product design.• Filed two patents. I was the sole inventor on the Veer slider mechanism.

• Redesigned the Roadster Power Electronics Module (PEM) to reduce complexity, assembly time and BOM cost.• Played a lead role in helping to define a charge connector interface standard for EV’s. This will be an automotive standard adopted by the SAE-J1772 Charging Systems Committee.• Implemented and administered PTC’s PDMLink to manage CAD data for the PEM mechanical team.• Continue to troubleshoot design and manufacturing issues and provide solutions to various subsystem groups.

• Engineered a variety of consumer products based on cost effective and efficient DFx methods. • Participated in many brainstorms to refine concepts and solve problems during the design stage and on the manufacturing floor.• Worked with EE’s to optimally design and integrate electronics into product enclosures.• Designed parts for plastic injection molding and sheetmetal stage and progressive die tooling. • As a lead mechanical engineer, I was responsible for managing projects efficiently. I coordinated design efforts of other engineers and support staff, locally and overseas, to successfully bring a project to completion.• Managed client/project direction taking on a “product champion” role.• Traveled to Asia (Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore) for tooling reviews and production part qualification.• Spearheaded the implementation of Pro/INTRALINK, a database management and revision control system for Pro/ENGINEER and trained our engineering team in its use.
