About Lixuan Tan

Lixuan Tan is a PhD candidate in the Centre for Translation and Interpreting Studies in Scotland (CTISS) at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh. Lixuan holds a BA in Applied Translation Studies from Hong Kong Baptist University and an MSc in Translation Studies from the University of Edinburgh. Lixuan is interested in new media translation and non-professional translation. She participated in interpreting and reporting the news of the Canton Fair and the first Guangzhou International Anti-Epidemic Materials Exhibition in 2020. Lixuan is also a committee member of the International Postgraduate Conference in Translation and Interpreting (IPCITI) 2023. Her PhD project focuses on roles of agents and social dynamics of agency in online community translation field.
