We are team of Occupational Therapists who specialise in Severe Injuries, working with Workers Care, CTP & Lifetime Care schemes. Our services include:-Activities of Daily Living assessment-Functional retraining-Equipment prescription-Care Needs Assessment with FIM & CANS-Internal injury management advice to workers compensation scheme agents.-LTCS case management & OT services Our therapists have a broad clinical base including orthopaedic and amputee rehab, neurological rehabilitation, aged care, equipment prescription and home modifications.

I've been appointed from 1 July 2016 as a Dispute Assessor, to assist in disputes about eligibility or treatment and care needs for participants in the lifetime care scheme across NSW and ACT.

Independent management of a large portfolio of catastrophic claims including brain and spinal injuries, amputees and burns. Completing specialist OT assessments for minor and major equipment including bath boards, over toilet aids, shower chairs, power wheelchairs and hoists. Assessing and making recommendations on minor and major home modifications including grab rails, wedge ramps, hand showers, ramps and level access showers.Worked closely with the local home modifications service to complete major modifications for clients in their own homes. Gathering data on the accessibility of council properties including widths of doorways, bathrooms, number of bedrooms, stairs and front and rear access. This also included distance to local shops, availability of dropped curbs and disabled parking. This allowed the team to create a database of all properties in the local area to enable clients with specific housing needs to bid on suitable properties through the choice based letting program. Clients were able to bid online for potential properties depending on their priority category, previously selected by the client service officer.Planning and organizing meetings with housing estate managers to assess their propertiesCommunicating with local residents and often referring back to housing and OT teams for further assistance with maintenance or functional issues throughout the house.

Rotational Occuaptional Therapist role including general medical, surgical, orthopaedic, aged care and rehabilitationDuties:Managed a variety of caseloads independently including: acute medical/surgical, respiratory, orthopaedics, rehabilitation and aged care, palliative care and community clients.Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.Gained competence in initial assessment of client, assessing functional ability and making recommendations for discharge planning.Identified the need for equipment to assist with activities of daily living and organised loan or hire of this. Liaised with builders from Department of Housing and local home modifications service for their advice regarding structural possibilities of proposed modifications. Had the opportunity to act up as grade 2 therapist in rapid response service. Commenced working at Casa Mia Aged Care centre whilst attending University. Together with the diversional therapists, an activity program was implemented on a daily basis to entertain the residents.
