I oversee a bureau of 53 employees who process applications for the licensure of businesses in numerous industries, including charities, health studios, travel agents, pawnshops, LPGas, auto repair and movers. I have experience in strategic planning to devlop short and long range goals in our division, as well as experience in reviewing statutes, rules, policies and procedures to look for and recommend improvements that will enhance our effectiveness and efficiency. I am a graduate of the Certified Public Manager program at the Florida Center for Public Management at Florida State University where I have also conducted presentations at subsequent sessions.

I served as Public Information Director under three past Commissioners of Agriculture. I wrote press releases on topics of public concern and interest, conducted interviews with news media and conducted research to gather information on important issues and events at the request of the administration. I received training in and was involved in crisis communication during numerous disasters including wildfires, hurricanes and plant and animal disease outbreaks. I conducted consumer protection presentations to community organizations and high school students.
