I've had the privilege to lead and contribute across diverse fields with over 20 years of experience in grassroots activism, marine and terrestrial science, public health, emergency response, and global health policy. My work has spanned organizational leadership, systems improvement, technical writing, research, and business development, all to create meaningful, lasting impact—whether by tackling complex health crises or developing innovative solutions.Personal loss has also shaped who I am. The sudden passing of my sister Abbey in 2010 sparked my passion to understand trauma and grief—not just as challenges we face, but as shared human experiences that deserve compassion and action. I’m writing a memoir and I am on a mission to establish a trauma healing center called Abbey’s Place in my sister’s honor someday. My vision is to improve economic opportunities and the health of communities by helping individuals find purpose and belonging. This journey begins with owning my story and the challenges I’ve faced, and I encourage others to do the same by listening and understanding their lived experiences. I lead with compassion and empathy, a leadership style forged through personal and professional trials. Despite obstacles—often tied to my identity as a woman and survivor—I’ve always sought to meet challenges head-on, using them to grow and uplift those around me. I am deeply committed to fostering inclusion, accessibility, and belonging. By practicing active listening, integrity, and open dialogue, we can build a more compassionate world—where everyone feels truly seen and valued. Outside of work, you can find me outdoors—whether hiking, paddle-boarding, or volunteering to support trafficking survivors and vulnerable populations. My goal is to help others feel connected, empowered, and purposeful, in their lives and communities. 𝙍𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙮 𝙩𝙤 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙖 𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙩? 𝙇𝙚𝙩’𝙨 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙖 𝙙𝙞𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙩𝙤𝙜𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧!
