UVA Community Hospitals - Haymarket Medical Center. This is a dual role interim position. Haymarket is a 50 bed community hospital with a 20 bed ED. Oversite of the ACS Manager, two Assistant Nurse Managers and 107 team members. The ACS department is a Bariatric Certified Center as well as working towards a Spine and Joint Certification. In the role of ACNO responsibilities include overseeing Acute Care Services and Emergency Department working collaboratively with ancillary departments such as Interventional Radiology, Diagnostics, Surgical Services and Respiratory Therapy. Oversite of the ACS specialty certifications and strategic planning for all nursing units. Budgetary alignment and Capital planning and outlay. Liaison for the leadership between three community hospitals aligning policies, procedures and UVA goals. The Emergency Department leadership position includes direct oversight of 55 Team Members and two Assistant Nurse Managers. Directing and collaborating patient flow with inpatient units as well as transfers to larger tertiary facilities. Building a Vertical Care setting within the department, working closely with the ED Medical staff to enhance patient flow, and patient satisfaction. Monitoring quality projects to reflect patient safety and quality care. Keeping the department in a state of readiness for TJC and CMS surveys. Working collaboratively with the Stroke and Heart coordinators to keep in line with all phases of best practices in these areas. Holding educational inservices to impart knowledge and review low use/high risk processes. Updating all policies and procedures. Timekeeping responsibilities. Updating on-boarding process of new team members and building a robust internship program for new graduates or "new to ED" nurses. Responsible for productivity and budget outlay. Consulting on various educational and administrative projects. Mentoring new Acute Care Nursing Director for Med/Surg/ICU/ER. Building job description, mentoring in executive role, fiscal budget and leadership qualities. Developed Telemetry Tech role on Med/Surg/Tele unit. Followed PI programs in both ER and M/S/PCU; assisted with developing follow up plans and improvement. DNV survey readiness in ER and all inpatient units. Interim contract expected end date December.

Director of a 25 bed ED, seeing 150 patients/day. Oversight of 60+ employees. TJC and CDPH/CMS surveys successfully completed while on site. Increased permanent staff by 60%; decreased the use of agency staff by 40%. Created fiscal budget for Y2022-23. Introduced Work Place Violence initiatives. Maintained high quality initiatives in the department; Stroke Certification. Implemented Preceptor and New Nurse Orientation programs. Ruidoso is a beautiful resort community with a quaint small town feel and a permanent population of 12,000. This swells to upwards of 20,000 during the winter ski season and during the summer for the horse racing season. LCMC is a critical access hospital located in the Sacramento Mountains. The Emergency Department has an 8 bed capacity and a staff of 32 RNs, Techs, 24 hr physician coverage with 12 hr mid-level coverage. Our census averages 38 patients/24 hrs. During our heavy tourist season we can see upwards of 60 patients/24 hrs. Responsibilities include day to day management of the 8 bed unit, scheduling of staff, and fiscal budget responsibilities. We maintain TJC Certification as well as CMS standards. Our patient census includes a large trauma population due to the outdoor activities associated with mountain sports and activities, skiing and snow sports, and horse racing accidents. All staff must maintain ACLS, PALS, TNCC and various other critical care certifications, as we transfer 15% of our monthly census due to the non-availability of many specialties. Quality measures and maintaining standards are an important part of our daily routine and assessment of our work environment. I encourage self-governance and involvement in all aspects of patient care and employee wellness. The department is small enough that I can still work several staff shifts a month to maintain my clinical skills.

Responsible for the day to day operations of a 7 bed ED in a rural setting. Our ED boasts 2 fully equipped trauma bays, 2 triage intake areas, fully monitored private rooms, and an OB/Delivery suite. Services include 24 hr ED physician coverage, RN nursing staff trained in advanced, adult/pediatric/neonatal care, and certified in trauma nursing. As well as ER techs trained at the EMT Intermediate & Paramedic level. Specialties include general surgical, non-invasive cardiology, urology, ENT, interventional radiology. Our hospital is equipped with such modern technology as nuclear medicine, MRI, 64 slice CT scanning. AGH also houses the only Geri-Psych unit in SE New Mexico.

Responsible for a 19 bed ER, 5 bed Fast Track and 4 bed Cardiac Obs Unit; Obtained Chest Pain Center national certification.

I worked at CMC for over 30 yrs in various positions including ER Director for 23 yrs, 4 yrs of which also included ICU/CCU. I worked as the Clinical Educator for 4 yrs, Interim CNO for 9 mo's until a permanent CNO was found. My proudest accomplishment at CMC was the institution of the Trauma Program with the final outcome of a Level III Designated Trauma Center. CMC will always be part of my family.
