I proudly serve as a Senior Manager of Executive Communications at Kelly, supporting our president and CEO. This role allows me to continue my passion for executive communications work at a company that has been connecting people to work in ways that enrich their lives for more than 75 years.

As the Communications Manager at Ilitch Holdings, I was part of a small yet versatile team that provided strategic communications council to company ownership and to the diverse set of businesses within the Ilitch organization.For eight years of my nearly 12-year tenure, my main responsibility was executive communications for the president and CEO. As his primary writer and content developer, I determined messaging platforms, developed concepts, researched, wrote, processed revisions and implemented both internal communications pieces and company speaking engagements, as well as external appearances. I found my sweet spot with executive communications at the highest level, and developed an excellent rapport with the executive I served.In addition, I managed a direct report who executed daily internal communications responsibilities and I personally handled sensitive and complicated special projects in this area. I was also leaned on as the resident writing expert most in tune with the company’s history, culture and values. The Ilitch companies include: Little Caesars, Blue Line Foodservice Distribution, Detroit Red Wings, Olympia Entertainment, Olympia Development, Detroit Tigers, Champion Foods, Little Caesars Pizza Kit Fundraising Program and MotorCity Casino Hotel.

As the public relations specialist at Health Alliance Plan, I handled a variety of media relations activities for the organization. I developed and maintained strong relationships with business and health care beat reporters, managed publicity campaigns for new products and programs and managed media inquiries. To facilitate positive coverage, I developed key messages and talking points and also coached spokespersons for interviews. True to my love of writing, I welcomed and engaged in a variety of ongoing writing projects, including creating and editing content for HAP member magazines, advertising materials, brochures and fact sheets. HAP is a Michigan-based nonprofit health plan that provides health coverage to individuals, companies and organizations. HAP covers 650,000 members and is a subsidiary of Henry Ford Health System.

As a new professional, I gained my first full-time communications experience as an Account Coordinator at Eisbrenner Public Relations. As a full-service PR agency, Eisbrenner exposed me to strategic communications planning, internal communications, media relations, advertising and event planning for clients across multiple industries. Eisbrenner Public Relations is a B2B public relations agency serving clients in the automotive, technology and energy industries.

My internship at the University Record provided me with additional exposure to an area of the field I truly enjoy: internal communications. I covered stories and also participated in the weekly process of laying out the print edition, creating headlines, editing and gaining approval from top brass at the university.The University Record is the official source for faculty-staff news at the University of Michigan.

A summer internship at Delphi (now Aptiv) was my lucky break into the communications field. With a handful of outstanding mentors advocating for a meaningful and rich experience for me, I was immersed in writing press releases as well as articles and content for the company intranet site and investor newsletters. This internship is how I learned communications was exactly the profession I was meant to pursue. Several friends from Delphi are still my most trusted mentors today.

As a Fine Arts Writer at the Michigan Daily student newspaper, two of my passions collided: writing and art. Nearly double majoring in art history, I found a way to be immersed in art regularly while honing my writing skills. I covered every traveling art exhibit that passed through the University of Michigan Museum of Art for two academic years. The Michigan Daily is the official campus newspaper of the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor and has been published since 1890.
