For five years, Ms. Jackson and I worked hand-in-hand as Associate Directors of The Fund Raising School, the professional training program housed inside the IU Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. She has an enthusiastic sense of possibility that made our collective efforts a joy and garnered results: both in terms of mission delivery and financial returns. In her role, she is a successful relationship-builder with The Fund Raising School’s many constituents, in particular with nonprofit clients who bring training courses directly to their communities. In the last year, for example, she shepherded a complex, mulit-year contract valued at upwards of $210,000 through the University’s legal and financial channels. The result is an expansive partnership that will train fundraising professionals from around the world. Ms. Jackson effectively initiates, manages, and nurtures The Fund Raising School’s custom partners, resulting in approximately one-third of the program’s earned-income each year. Ms. Jackson’s leadership and team-orientation has served The Fund Raising School well as we responded to the pandemic’s challenges. Early in the pandemic, she brought her entrepreneurial thinking to weekly strategy sessions in which we devised a new business model primarily built around high-quality virtual courses delivered at the right price-point. At the same time, she continued to oversee The Fund Raising School’s marketing efforts to ensure our audience that not only were we still “open for business” but now offered new and lower-cost ways to engage. She has shined in front of the camera promoting The Fund Raising School during this time. "
