I am a licensed school counselor with over 3 years of school counseling experience and 16 years of experience serving diverse student populations as a program facilitator, substitute teacher, camp director, and after-school program supervisor.Known for my adaptability, collaboration, and organization, I excel at being a calm listener, a critical thinker, and someone who is able to problem-solve complex issues. Driven by data, I specialize in delivering high-quality Social-Emotional Learning instruction and trauma-informed counseling across all tiers. I am passionate about nurturing inclusive environments for students to achieve equitable outcomes in academics, career planning, and social-emotional growth. My empathetic, solution-focused approach helps students enhance problem-solving, de-escalation, and coping skills, leading to both academic and social-emotional growth.My core mission is fostering a sense of belonging and self-worth in all students, empowering them to advocate for themselves. Central to my counseling philosophy is holistic support, focusing on SEL, positive behavior interventions, and self-regulation. I believe my background contributes to creating supportive, stimulating learning communities where all students can excel as lifelong learners.My experiences, both nationally and internationally, have equipped me with a diverse skill set. Outside of the school setting, I volunteered at a South African orphanage in 2016 and worked with children in New Zealand from 2017 to 2018. In Wisconsin, my experiences as a substitute teacher deepened my understanding of inclusive learning environments where every student feels a sense of belonging. Throughout my career, I have prioritized self-reflection, especially regarding equitable, trauma-sensitive learning environments and restorative justice practices. I have intermediate proficiency in Spanish and continuously work to improve my language skills. Having been active in the Wisconsin and Arizona School Counselor Associations, I am dedicated to ongoing professional development, seeking new opportunities for growth to better serve students, families, and communities.
