Priorities = integrity, innovative development and embedding of compassionate, trauma informed services that live up to and practice their stated values.I passionately believe that a therapeutic, nurturing and supportive environment is vital to care for and support individuals I work with, many of whom have experienced extreme adversity. Goal = deliver effective, supportive and innovative work to progress services and ultimately wellbeing and success for people we look after/work with and for colleagues. I am dedicated to ensuring practice takes a personalised and holistic approach, where consideration of an individuals’ experiences is paramount and that this informs development and implementation of strategy/service development, as well as direct therapy or interventions. I have published several book chapters and articles on trauma-informed practice within social care.I have a passion for considering sensory needs and neurodiversity, as a neurodivergent practitioner myself. This mission and interest extends to my leadership style.I have clinical and leadership experience in a variety of settings with children, young adults/adolescents, and adults with varying needs including criminogenic behaviour, risks and vulnerabilities, mental health difficulties and neurodevelopmental conditions. I use a variety of modalities, such as EMDR, DBT, ACT, CFT, schema therapy and block(Lego) therapy, to provide personalised and holistic interventions. Personal and professional development is continual and I hold this in high regard for myself and others.I have extensive experience in consultancy, training, risk assessment, group work, and providing evidence in formal settings. Consultancy and direct work into residential, education, community and secure settings. Areas I have worked to support include harmful sexual behaviour, fire setting, violence, exploitation and related vulnerabilities, intimate partner violence, mental health and wellbeing, family attachment and trauma including the many ways this can impact people (eg eating difficulties, encopresis), self injury, healthy relationships, team dynamics and wellbeing.I have thoroughly enjoyed developing others through supervision throughout my career and feel passionately about providing high quality supervision to a variety of specialist practitioners to enhance and compliment practice.
