*connecting people to nature through events and experiences - nature days for uniformed groups, curriculum linked school visits, workshops, butterfly and bird walks, and nature craft drop ins. *using national citizen science projects, including the Big Butterfly Count and the Mammal Society’s Harvest Mouse survey, alongside other site specific surveys such as orchid and reptile surveys, to gather data and develop the skills of volunteers. Volunteer teams include adult Wildlife Volunteer Team and teenage Junior Rangers. *leading, delivering, monitoring and evaluating funded nature engagement projects such as a water vole reintroduction in partnership with BCN Wildlife Trust and “Nature Families” bringing families from urban areas to the site for their first nature experience.

*create, develop and deliver a programme of outdoor learning for all years from Nursery to Year 6. *develop and manage the school grounds for outdoor learning experiences *lead the schools participation in, and promote on social media, national citizen science projects, including Big Garden Birdwatch and the Mammal Society’s School Mammal Challenge *successful applications to Learning through Landscapes Nature Grants and Woodland Trust. *liaise with, train and support teachers and TAs to develop their own outdoor education practice.
