I have completed my PhD at the University of Victoria, in the laboratory of Prof. Matt Moffitt. I specialize in nanoparticles for drug delivery, specifically cancer treatment.Previously, I did my MSc in biochemistry with Prof. Chezy Barenholz at the Hebrew University, where I learned from about nanoparticles from the scientist who patented the first FDA approved nanomedicine.I received my BSc in biology at MIT. I am a resourceful scientist and a creative thinker. 20 years after Doxil entered the clinic, I found the mechanism of action that enables it to release drug at tumor sites and not in the bloodstream, a discovery that formed the basis of my MSc thesis.I have experience in cell and molecular biology, cancer cell metabolism, and also lipid biochemistry, liposomal drug delivery, and nanoparticles. I am familiar with techniques such as PCR, qPCR / rtPCR, Western blot, cell culture and tissue culture, cloning, and basics of HPLC. I also have experience in scientific writing and editing, including grant applications and scientific articles.
