In my role, I focused on setting up and maintaining a volunteer database (Volgistics) and related processes, screening/interviewing potential volunteers, creating interest forms to connect volunteers with local nonprofits who needed additional support, and creating two videos for volunteer supervisors (in the Emergency Operations Center and temporary shelters) so they understood their role in supporting a healthy volunteer environment. Workshops and presentations focus on effective volunteer engagement, social media and other online tools, supervision and delegation, and more! I've presented at conferences and delivered customized training to staff at various organizations.

Collaborated with a team of co-editors to elevate and share voices we haven't traditionally included in the Volunteer Engagement space.

As an AmeriCorps member I wrote curricula for educational classes, gave public talks, interpreted exhibits for visitors, and created activities for summer camp. A large portion of my time was focused on coordinating and training volunteers for a citizen science project involving an orca skeleton. I helped to maintain exhibits, aquariums, and live animals.
