I have over 15 years experience in healthcare communications, across medical education, public relations, corporate comms and digital strategy. In more recent years I have switched focus and moved in-house to manage the external communications and brand identity for Langland, a healthcare communications agency. My experience spans multiple therapy areas, including immunology (psoriasis and rheumatoid arthritis), gastroenterology (ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease), metabolic diseases (anti-obesity), cardiovascular disease (hypertension, CTEPH, PAH), haematology (haemophilia), infectious diseases (HCV), addiction (opioid dependence) and ophthalmology (glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy), across both Global (excl. US) and EMEA regions. This sets me in good stead to understand the key trends, themes and regulations that impact the industry in my current role. During my career, I have been shortlisted for several industry awards, and was a member of the winning Publicis Life Brands Resolute team for the 2009 Pharma Times Communications Team of the Year Award, and member of the Tonic Life Communications Highly Commended Finalist in the 2012 Pharma Times Communications Team of the Year. I am a mum of two lively, energetic and fun-filled sprogs and split my week between my professional work (3 days) and the role of primary care giver. I am an avid bookworm, so you will undoubtedly find me on the commute with my nose in my kindle - and more often than not reading pure escapism rather than anything educational! :-)
