I am a community organizer from Richmond, California and am currently studying Environmental Science and Engineering at Harvard. I am a driven student who cares about breaking the barriers that often prevent first-generation students, especially BIPOC women, from pursuing fields in STEM. I am studying Environmental Science and Engineering because I want to use STEM to create solutions to climate issues and ensure that community voices are prioritized in any solution.

    I am a part of Harvard's chapter of Engineers Without Borders and have worked on the Los Sanchez project over the past semesters. Los Sanchez is a high elevation community in the Dominican Republic that we have worked with to design and construct a water distribution system. I am in the QGIS team and visually modeled the water distribution system, the community, and survey data from trips to the community. I have also served on the communications team and have negotiated with contractors, engaged with community leaders on a weekly basis, and created contracts and budgets. I served as a Spanish translator during the August 2024 trip to Los Sanchez and helped to construct the transmission line and second water storage tank, work through distribution plans with community members, and assess existing parts of the system.
