What gets me up in the morning is the excitment and potential to create a sustainable, adaptable, genetically diverse, food growing space. I love integrated and closed loop systems where waste is just another name for resource, and the sense of achievement from watching a crop thrive is second to non.Observation is the key first step to impactful design, scientific method, and personal growth. I see myself as a professional observer. I’m great at identifying resources and skills that have an impact at a systems level, and am facinated at what lessons can be learned by observing natural systems. My own background of expertise has spanned various biologies, event organising, and growing in and out of soil. I have dabbled in business but it has taken a while to both find what venture I truely believe in putting me heart and sole into, and accepting the limitations of what one person (now with three little ones and the commitments of family life) can achieve from week to week. This year I have embarked on creating my own seed business on the chalk soils of Brighton and Hove. This passionate and simple idea has really taken root and I will be tending it carefully as it slowly grows over the next couple of years.
