I am clinical faculty for the USC Neighborhood Mobile Dental Van Prevention Program ( NMDVPP). I observe and teach dental students how to properly do dental prophylaxis, apply dental sealants and fluoride, and teach oral health education to young children. I also assist my fellow faculty in organizing the schools we visit, maintenance of the program and vehicle, manage outside organizational agreements, and manage student qualifications to participate in the local community.I help to organize, plan, and attend community events such as health fairs. I recruit dental students and faculty members to participate.I teach Grant Writing and Health Assessment for the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry's Community Oral Health Masters Program.

Works with the Oral Health Program (OHP) to expand access to Dental care in Los Angeles County by:- Disseminating oral health educational resources at health fairs and to community organizations.- Connecting and building a local stakeholder list to help support community oral health - Hosting a quarterly meeting every four months to show progress to stakeholders- Communicating and collaborating with local Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) to support community outreach, promote the expansion of dental services, and train medical staff in preventative oral health procedures- Helping develop an After Hours tool kit that was distributed to FQHCs who offer dental services- Connecting Emergency Department to Local FQHCs to help provide dental homes to community members- Training promotoras and home visitors on the importance of oral health and by providing them resources- Developing and implementing a dental mentorship program used at several local High schools to promote dental careers and encourage diversity within the field of dentistry- Working with elementary schools to educate parents and teachers on oral health and the importance of kindergarten oral health assessments (KOHA)- Integrating public oral health into undergrad public health curriculum for college students- Integrating cultural sensitivity into the dental workforce curriculum at local colleges- Presenting at the Los Angeles 2021 Oral Health Summit

This office is such a great place to work! The Dentists are incredible and I have had the opportunity to be part of a proficient dental hygiene team! Dr. Bernardi is a general dentist. Her dental office is state of the art which helps me care for my patients with all the dental technologies available. I have access to dental lasers, ultrasonic scalers, digital X-rays and a completely paperless digital office program called Denticon. I enjoy working with all of the patients here; most of which have been seeing us for many years. I am very lucky to be part of such an amazing team.

I was responsible for keeping up with the daily hygiene schedule. I not only cleaned teeth but also did full oral cancer exams with Visilite, LASER bacterial reduction treatments, helped the Dentist identify suspicious lesions in the mouth and explained them to the patient via intra-oral photographs, applied fluoride, and scheduled patients recall appointments when necessary. I also helped my fellow team members by sterilizing instruments.

This office specializes in periodontics. Dr. Tyler Hendry is a great periodontist and he specializes in LANAP procedures. I am one of his dental hygienists and I keep his patients healthy by doing mainly scaling and root planing and periodontal maintenance cleanings. Most of our patients are on a three to four month recall and require clear oral hygiene instruction and motivation. I work in this office on Monday and Wednesday each week. I greatly enjoy seeing improvement in my patient's oral health.
