Founded by Mary Robinson and others in 1976, the ICCL have worked tirelessly to defend and strengthen constitutional rights protections and to ensure the full implementation of international human rights standards. Domestically focused and internationally informed, ICCL have developed strong partnerships with civil society organisations in Ireland and networks and alliances with similar organisations internationally.

I started Digital Action in 2018 as a response to the rising threats to democratic rights posed by unregulated, unaccountable tech giants. A campaigning organisation, we work as a field catalyst; enabling the collaboration and behind the scenes coordination needed to bring about systems change. An international team spanning 3 continents now builds impactful global coalitions changing industry practice and impacting regulations.

The Transparent Referendum Initiative worked to make the Irish referendum on reproductive rights open, honest and fair, by building a database of all social media ads targeting voters and making them open to scrutiny and fact-checking. Our work led to investigations by the New York Times, BBC and CNN and others, and resulted in Google and Facebook changing their policy on political ads. We also developed long term policy solutions to the challenges of protecting democratic processes from the vulnerabilities created by digital media, presenting these to the Irish Government, European Commission and other fora. -- www.tref.ie --

Associate trainer and expert working on governance and change management projects for clients including the World Bank, Sport England, and a variety of governments.

I established and led the ODI's work in international development, which focused on support to leaders to drive change in their governments. I took this work from an idea and a small grant to a team with diverse funding streams working on 5 continents, developing, delivering and evaluating support interventions that are changing the way governments operate. See individual projects I led below, including the Open Elections Burkina 2015 project, and the Open Data Leaders Network.

Supporting the Executive Director to launch, fund and scale a global initiative focusing on embedding openness in governments in ways that are resilient to political change. Long term consultancy.

I developed and delivered support programmes for UK political and government leaders with the Leadership for Government team. I also researched and published work on various governance topics, including change management, women's representation and political leadership. I also oversaw n internal piece of work on evaluation and impact measurement. (See projects below) My proudest achievement here was developing the world's first 360 degree feedback programme for government ministers, and a programme of support for Opposition in preparation for a change of government.

Secondment. Supported the centre of government in Sierra Leone post-election, including support to new Cabinet ministers.

Supported a network of civil society organisations to engage with government and IGOs in a post-conflict setting, including communications, research and project management.
