Long-time technophile finding myself in a world that's witnessing a deepening digital divide...and trying to do something about it!I'm the COO for TechResort CIC and, increasingly, whilst our lovely team of young workers support people get safely and confidently on line, I find myself having serious conversations about the shortcomings in public service digital channels, and service-users' (in)ability to access them effectively.From a career in financial services, I've gained experience in a wide range of disciplines - from customer service, through medical and scheme underwriting, claims assessment and book-keeping, through to business continuity, governance and project management. Thankfully, nearly all these skills are just as relevant in my current work.Alongside all this, I think one of our greatest achievements is giving skills and experience to young people to enable them to find meaningful work and watching them become skilled and compassionate members of the community.When not complaining to someone about their UX I may be found with a vintage camera in hand...probably heading to the pub for excellent beer (beer other than excellent need not apply!)
