GreyMil is an interdisciplinary team that works in the field of neurology and physical rehabilitation. I work as a locum physiotherapist for Mr Dian Beukes’ practice in Bloemfontein Mediclinic when the practice is short staffed during the week or on weekends. For this practice I treat in-hospital patients in the ICU-, COVID-, Surgical- and Medical wards. We also treat patients post cosmetic/plastic procedures such as liposuction, breast reduction, breast enlargements, etc.

At Lizánne Verwey Physiotherapists we treat in-hospital patients in Bloemfontein Mediclinic, CityMed Day Hospital and Cure Day Hospital as well as out-patients at the two practices. This private practice treats a variety of musculoskeletal- and respiratory disorders, vertebral- and peripheral joint conditions, sport injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, women’s health, etc. The practice also specializes in the use of ultrasound and laser therapy for post-operative treatment of gynaecological and maxilla-facial surgeries. We also treat geriatric patients for pain management, neurological conditions, post stroke rehabilitation, strengthening and pulmonary conditions at the practice or at Striata Retirement Home.I was also the only designated physiotherapist to treat any COVID-19 patients referred to this practice or that is admitted to the gynaecological or maternity wards in Bloemfontein Mediclinic.

I occasionally work as a locum physiotherapist for Mrs Riëtte le Roux’s practice in Bloemfontein Mediclinic. This practice treats in-hospital patients in the cardiothoracic ICU and cardiothoracic ward in Mediclinic. At her practice at Life Rosepark Hospital, I mostly assist with the COVID-19 patients in ICU as well as the ward when I locum.

Volunteered to be part of the COVID-19 physiotherapy team in Mediclinic. The team consisted out of 16 members that worked in the COVID-ward and -ICU on a rotational basis. The aim of the team was to prevent cross-infections from these wards to the “COVID-negative” wards. The members of this team was the only physiotherapists allowed to treat any COVID-19 patients in the hospital from July 2020 until the change in regulations in December 2020.

Assisted in massaging and strapping of runners on the day of the Comrades Marathon as well as on the day of the Comrades Expo. In 2019 I worked as a student and returned in 2020 to work as an qualified physiotherapist.

Completed my Community Service Year at Dihlabeng Regional Hospital in Bethlehem, Free State. I worked in ICU, Neonatal- , Paediatric-, Orthopaedic-, Surgical- and Medical Wards on a rotational basis. We presented post- and ante-natal classes in the Maternity Ward. I also treated out-patients for postoperative rehabilitation, pulmonary conditions, pain management, vertebral conditions, peripheral conditions, sport injuries, etc.
