Through in-depth ethnographic research, I gain understanding of the business needs from internal and client stakeholders as well as the user needs, behaviors, and motivations. I propose balanced design solutions that create engaging user experiences but are also feasible and viable for business stakeholders. My focus has been on developing user-friendly software but my vision extends to the entire customer experience. I believe that experience design enables large corporations to create value more easily and with less risk by providing the context and goals for all innovation activities. Particular to my role at DST, I have led several large initiatives to create software that meets the complex needs of call center representatives and back office processors who support shareholders, broker/dealers, sponsor companies, etc in the retail and retirement financial industry.

I worked on a wide variety of information design and interaction design projects while I was primarily a business analyst. Specifically, I created many strategic communications for C-Suite Execs and solution diagrams for various system enhancement projects.

As an IT Project Manager, I led and was accountable for managing IT projects. I was responsible for ensuring projects were delivered on time, within budget, and within standards. I worked for DST's largest client, American Funds, and was able to meet their standards and expectations. I worked closely with project stakeholders and owners to determine, define, and document project scope, and project outcomes. I coordinated the activities of the project team, which included, but is not limited to identifying the appropriate resources needed and developing schedules to ensure the timely completion of the project. We operated within the agile development methodology. In addition, I also performed supervisory duties for the associates on the team including managing goals and career development.

As the business liaison on system development projects, I helped to elicit and manage our client's requirements using interviews, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process evaluations, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis. I have served as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow. I was also responsible for a considerable amount of client messaging and information design for the C-suite executives on a number of initiatives outside my daily job duties.
