Lizelot Versteeg (1980) lives in Lochem, The Netherlands, together with her husband and son. After graduating at the Academy of Arts in ’s-Hertogenbosch (2003) she worked as a graphic designer at design studios in The Netherlands and Belgium for more than fifteen years. During that time she’s also been a freelance designer and illustrator. Currently Lizelot works as a freelancer for several clients with her design studio Liever Ontwerp. But she’s more than a designer. She teaches Yoga and Pilates to adults at studio Puur Bewegen in Lochem, and brings yoga to kids with custom workshops at primary schools. Of all the things she does, Lizelot spends the most time on creating children’s books as ‘Lotje’. These books, with lots of colorful drawings and cute and educational stories, are published worldwide. Lizelot often visits schools and libraries to talk about her books and teach kids how to draw from their own fantasy!
