Carey School of Business educates tomorrow’s business leaders, takes an entrepreneurial approach to learning, and conducts groundbreaking research, in order to create positive change on a global scale.• Consult with clients to assess event needs, define objectives and theme and ensure event is produced to properly reflect the quality and standards of the W. P. Carey School• Plan the scope and format of each event, considering the budget, guest list, stakeholders and venue • Develop a detailed pre and post logistical plan for each event while tracking progress and maintaining records• Serve as the chief liaison with event-related vendors and staff; negotiate contracts, approve event orders and final billing• Manage on-site event operations including set up, run of show, and teardown• Create assessments and reports outcomes for quality standards and financial controls • Manage and maintain school-wide event rentals and schedule for Sparky mascot appearances• Lead a team of fifteen staff members in weekly training courses of an event management system pilot program• Networking Chair on the leadership board for Meeting, Event Coordinators & Associates (MECA), a university-wide event planner’s organization comprised of over 300 members
