• Acted as Pre-Arbitration Officer for the Auto unit.• Examine, investigate and quantify complex liability claims. (Property, Bodily Injury, Garage, Commercial Auto & Property)• Coach and train junior adjusters; Ensure their adherence to accepted practices; Oversee settlements and file contents.• Liaise with Peace Hills Insurance brokers and maintain an excellent working relationship.• Refer files to and liaise with the RSP and reinsurance with AON while maintaining ownership of the file.• Oversee the work of independent contractors hired to investigate & examine claims.• Apply extensive knowledge of Insurance, Medical and Legal practices.• Collect, critically assess and preserve evidence from insureds witnesses, police, fire departments, forensic experts and other relevant evidence, interviews and reports.• Communicate complex legal concepts and terminology clearly in writing, in person and over the telephone.• Providing timely claim reviews to ensure accurate files.• Research case law, as necessary.• Attend discoveries and trials as needed.• Refer & oversee files in defense.• Attend JDR and Mediations with a view to achieve fair settlement.• Prepare file for and attend trials an appeal hearings.
