Li ZHA obtained his Ph.D in 2003, and is an Associate Professor of the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences since 2005. He was been the project leader of several national level research programs. He was the technical director of “China National Grid Software Research and Development” project which is fund by China Ministry of Science and Technology 863 Program. In this project, by leading a R&D group in ICT, he was in charge of architecture and implementation of CNGrid GOS v3 and v4. Deployed on TWELVE geographically distributed grid nodes, CNGrid GOS supports computing and storage resource sharing with SSI and SSO features, and provides a friendly interface to end users for accessing resources. His research is focused on large scale distributed resource management, big data storage/processing/retrieval and system level optimization. His interests also include other classic issues in distributed computing and grid computing field.He is leading a team in ICT collaborate with Apache Hadoop open source community since 2008. The team contribute RCFile technology to the Apache Hive project while being adopted by Facebook inc. and etc. He is also one of the inventor of CCIndex which is adopted by Taobao inc., support multidimensional real-time search in DataCube application. With the help of several people of same interests, he founded Hadoop in China symposium that first proposed in 2008. This annual symposium is the biggest one that focus on big data related technologies in China now.Specialties: Large scale distributed resource management, big data storage/processing/retrieval and system level optimization, also include other classic issues in distributed computing and grid computing field.
