I set up LP Ecological Services Ltd in 2024, after working in ecological consultancy for 12 years and going freelance in 2023. I am a full member of CIEEM and hold survey licences for bats and great crested newts in England (class 2), Scotland and Wales, hazel dormice in England (class 1) and Wales and barn owl in England. I hold a valid first aid certificate as well as a CSCS card and FISC level 3 certificate.My skillset includes:- Preliminary ecological appraisal using Phase 1 or UKHab survey methodology- Hedgerow Regulations assessment (ecology criteria only)- Protected species surveys including bats, great crested newt, barn owl, hazel dormouse, reptiles, water vole, otter, badger and nesting birds- Ecological impact assessment- Biodiversity net gain including habitat condition assessment and use of the statutory biodiversity metric - Ecological management plans and mitigation strategies- HRA (stage 1 screening only)- EPSL for bats (named ecologist)- Ecological clerk of works- BREEAM ecology assessment (SQE)I have worked on householder applications and permitted development schemes as well as residential, utilities, rail, renewable energy, commercial, education, healthcare and heritage projects.
