As an accomplished and dynamic director and leader I have successfully founded and developed an award winning equine veterinary practice with full surgical facilities. I have developed and delivered a comprehensive long-term strategy to provide veterinary services, including recruiting, developing, training and overseeing a team of 16 staff. I have created a positive learning environment where best practice and a no blame culture is the focus to drive excellence and constantly improve on the care we provide. I love coming up with creative and innovative solutions, implementing, testing, and reviewing their success. I have established an innovative client education programme at Loch Leven Equine Practice. In 2019 I launched the first equine veterinary podcast. Called ‘The Podcasting Equine Vets’, we created a library of 28 episodes covering different conditions as part of our marketing strategy to Prevent, Educate and Treat (PET). To date the podcast has had just under 27K downloads and continues to be downloaded globally. I am also a director, board member and Congress Lead for the Veterinary Management Group, and completed a Postgraduate certificate with distinction in Veterinary Business Management from Liverpool University in 2018. I have managed and delivered financial results as well as coached, trained and guided my team to provide excellent customer service and veterinary support. I am confident building long lasting relationships with partners, suppliers, and customers to underpin sustainable financial success of the business.I have a particular interest in people, their behaviours and how we can create the right environment for them to thrive. I am focused on driving team performance through creating a positive team environment using human factors evidence and research to create a psychologically safe workplace for the team. I am Level 2 DISC certified and currently undertaking my Personal Performance Coaching and Small Business Diploma with The Coaching Academy. Through my work at the Veterinary Management Group and my Post Grad certificate I have developed business strategy, governance and oversight, while also prioritising the need to drive continuous improvement and professional development. I am highly organised, enthusiastic and conscientious. I love being challenged, am naturally competitive and strive for excellence in everything I do.
