Physician • Reproductive Health Specialist • Epidemiologist • Public Health Advocate • Clinician TrainerDr. Kaltman is a licensed naturopathic physician, epidemiologist, and public health professional who specializes in sexual, reproductive, and maternal health. She has worked in public health in wide variety of roles for over 25 years. As a leader in the reproductive health field, she has worked with organizations such as Upstream USA, the Reproductive Health Access Project, Planned Parenthood, NARAL, and Gennev. She is dedicated to using a reproductive justice and gender inclusive framework to decrease barriers to healthcare access and create solutions that promote equity in sexual, reproductive, and maternal health. She has worked with diverse healthcare institutions including Federally Qualified Health Centers, city, state, and county health departments, tribal health centers, community clinics, private sector health centers, and large academic and research institutions. She currently divides her time between several leadership, training, and clinical roles.As a Lead Clinical Advisor for Upstream USA, Dr. Kaltman works on Upstream’s national campaign to reduce unplanned pregnancy by improving equitable access to contraception. Dr. Kaltman serves as a subject matter expert on family planning and reproductive health and provides clinical and technical advising to Upstream’s national teams. She also develops and leads trainings nationally for clinicians on evidence-based best practices for contraceptive care. This includes teaching practicums on IUD and implant procedures and training providers on avoiding reproductive coercion and bias. Additionally, she provides contraceptive training in her role as Clinical Training Faculty for Merck/Organon. Dr. Kaltman provides clinical care as a member of the Gynecology and Women’s Health Team at ZOOM+Care in Portland, Oregon. She also works with Trillium Family Services, Oregon’s largest provider of mental health services for children and adolescents, where she provides reproductive health services to at-risk teens in their pediatric residential treatment facility. Her clinical interests include family planning, adolescent health, care for the LGBTQ+ community, and menopause. She has earned the esteemed North American Menopause Society (NAMS) credential, NAMS Certified Menopause Practitioner (NCMP). Additionally, she serves on the Board of Directors for Pro-Choice Oregon (formerly NARAL) and as the Oregon Clinician Network Leader for the Reproductive Health Access Project.
