-Women's Health Clinical Specialist (WCS) The WCS is a certification granted by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS). Individuals earning this certification are "Board-Certified Clinical Specialists" who have demonstrated proficiency in evaluating and treating a variety of women's health diagnoses. WCS certified physical therapists demonstrate this through a combination of clinical care, written test, and submission of a case report. The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) endorses the recognition of physical therapists who have attained this level of advanced specialization in order to promote the highest possible level of care for individuals seeking physical therapy services in each specialty area.-CAPP Credentialed The Section on Women’s Health (SoWH) of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) has developed the Certificate of Achievement in Pelvic Physical Therapy (CAPP) to certify that a physical therapist has completed a comprehensive education, training, and testing program for the treatment of patients with diagnoses of pelvic floor dysfunction, such as urinary incontinence and pelvic pain. The CAPP is awarded to physical therapists who complete 3 courses of training in pelvic physical therapy, pass both practical and written testing requirements at each level, and complete a written case report appropriate for submission to a medical journal.-MSPT (Master's of Science in Physical Therapy) The Master's of Science in Physical Therapy is a 2 year graduate degree obtained after an individual has achieved a 4 year bachelors degree. This degree prepares individuals to become entry-level physical therapists. It differs from a MPT (Master's of Physical Therapy) degree in that MSPT students are required to participate in and present research as a part of their degree program.
