It’s also given me a keen eye for detail, a passion for collaboration, and a desire to find solutions in any situation.2 decades in my early career in marketing communications agencies trained me to work with big brand clients, nurturing a passion for creative and design, a deep understanding of data and a solutions-based mindset.Having graduated with an International Marketing degree, I fell into the arms of a DM agency and was duly drilled in the old school art of account handling. Managing client expectations (graciously) in budgets, timings; writing super-tight creative briefs that everyone bought into - and measuring the resulting work against them; smoothing the path of the work through the agency and the client; all the training an account exec could hope for.It being a Direct Marketing agency, I quickly understood the importance of data - both customer and analysis - and targeting, and the right message to the right people at the right time.As my career progressed from tiny DM agency to medium size agencies, my client knowledge grew and I gained experience in direct mail, direct response TV, radio, door drops, inserts and CRM programmes. I worked for international clients in a European agency network, I managed teams of various sizes, I worked for the hottest agency in town and my proudest moment came when I was promoted to the board of that agency.So what next? What I discovered was that all those years spent learning the craft of data driven marketing and client servicing were totally transferable. And as the world became obsessed with data - how to gain it, harness it and how to use it - I discovered I had the right blend of experience and expertise to offer this new world.
