I have over 25 years experience working in a £1billion public sector organisation with over 10,000 staff. I have really enjoyed the opportunity to lead very large teams (up to 500) with an operational focus and smaller teams with tighter remit.I have also been fortunate to have been an incident manager alongside my executive role for over 10 years covering events such as big floods and other major incidents e.g. fires, chemical spills, nuclear incidents.During my time in senior management, coaching has been an integral part of my leadership style supported by a Post Graduate Certificate in Business and Executive Coaching, this has enabled me to successfully coach and mentor many people.I have found that for incident management, technical training can give you a really good foundation however what can make the difference is the outward portrayal of confidence. I have found that coaching individuals, alongside technical training, enables people to thrive and be confident. I know this would have helped me enormously during my years of managing and leading major incidents.Coaching is a very effective way of understanding the barriers and enablers to help you be the best you can be. All of my clients who I have coached said they have benefitted in a positive way.
