Director of Xccelerate, DCBX (Do Connect Be eXperience)Washington, D.C.As the Director of Xccelerate, Liz Strom serves as the head event planner of targeted entrepreneurial events held during the annual DCBX congress. She leads a core team to plan and produce the Xccelerate Conference, manages all event communications, on-site activities, and speaker engagement, fosters partnerships, et al.Primary Duties:-Develops and directs event schedule for smooth event execution-Procures speakers and workshop facilitators for the day-long event-Liaises with core DCBX staff and members to procure volunteers and assistants for event facilitation-Coordinates with other DCBX event directors in regard to meeting setup, F&B needs, and meeting room blocks directly related to Xccelerate-Manages event budget and reviews reports for accounting, as necessary-Communicates with speakers, team members, volunteers, and attendees-Updates and maintains the event website (dcbizx.org) via WordPress-Coordinates social media marketing and communication efforts-Delegates tasks to assistants and volunteers to ensure the optimal event experience-Serves as the MC and function lead on the day-of, managing and mobilizing Xccelerate staff for smooth execution-Contributes to, and participates in, DCBX team virtual meetings, as prescribed by the DCBX founders-Trains volunteers and shares meeting-planning expertise with future event directors
