About Liz Torn

I enjoy helping people find answers to their questions, teaching people new things, encouraging my co-workers and being part of a strong team that is goal-driven! I currently work at WCTC as an HR Assistant. I am involved with Talent, Total Rewards, Well-being, and more! I manage the HR inbox to either answer or route employee questions to the correct person. I help promote wellness events via our college portal and sharepoint sites and on our Employee Facebook group.Before returning to HR: While being a stay-at-home mom, I dabbled in a few direct sales companies. In August 2017, I founded The Williston Market, a monthly vendor event, for the Williston, ND community. For over 2 years, I coordinated the entire event 1-2 times a month with 30+ vendors including activities for children and adults who attended. I enjoyed hosting an event where other small business owners and entrepreneurs could showcase their talents, goods, and services to our community. I created opportunities for them to build their businesses and encouraged people new to the "vendor-show" world to join us. I substitute taught for 2 years (2018-2020) when I lived in North Dakota. Since returning home to Wisconsin, I was a classroom aide in the West Bend School District and an Instructional Aide in the HNR School District (2020-2023). I substitute taught in the Hartford School District while looking to get back in to Human Resources fulltime.
