My experiences mostly lie within supporting adults with learning disabilities and more recently brain injury. Working in social work for 13 years predominantly on the provider side, as a supporting social worker on the shared lives scheme. This role included recruiting, assessing, training and monitoring shared lives carers to provide long and short term placements within their own home to an adult with a learning disability. I now enjoy working in the charity sector. I support brain injury survivors and their families and more recently I am enjoying helping a very small charity called KWEST16 to grow and develop too. KWEST16 aims to empower & enrich children’s lives in Watamu Kenya through the provision of libraries and free access to books.
