This was done by listening to the customer and figuring out what their underlying need was and resolving it. Some resolutions would be troubleshooting, explaining products and how they worked as well as how they would benefit the customer, bills, pricing, negotiating and being able to justify courtesy credits, issuing company-mistake credits, apologizing (believably), as well as doing what is right for the customer as well as the company (don't give away the bank and still make the customer happy. Maintaining stellar customer service. I was a senior representative which meant I assisted with training new-hires, attended focus groups, was the "go-to" team member when supervisor was not available, but my speciality was "turning around" irate customers with understanding, credits, and explanations, basically providing "stellar" customer service. My personal challenge with irate customers was getting them to want to take the time to give a "customer accolade" and do a top ranked survey. Additional resources used with EVERY customer was sincere empathy and going above and beyond expectations.
