Responsible for the creation, development and implementation of environmental and sustainability initiatives which support the University of Birmingham's Environmental Policy and Sustainability Strategy. Including water conservation, ethical food procurement, energy efficiency and waste and recycling. In particular focusing on Student Accommodation and engaging residents to adopt sustainable practices through innovation, event creation and competition.I introduced a new brand for the University’s approach to sustainability, called G.R.E.G, which is an acronym for Green, Reducing, Environmental, Genius and is the University’s sustainable mascot, whose goal is to influence individuals to reduce their carbon footprint through behaviour change. G.R.E.G achieved an impressive 85% recognition rate for the brand and 54% of people having claimed to change their behaviour as a result.
