-Responsible for running the specialist International Student Advice service at the University. This includes managing two FTE International Student Advisers plus one temporary Student Batch Scheme Assistant during peak periods; undertaking detailed casework with students on Tier 4, Tier 1 (DES) and Administrative Reviews / immigration appeals; being the key point of contact for all staff on student immigration issues. -Contribute to and advise on central policy decisions in relation to Tier 4 sponsorship. This includes preparing briefing papers for senior management and staff and writing procedural documents.-Develop and deliver a detailed training programme for University staff on the Tier 4 Immigration Rules.-Advise Student Records and Admissions teams on CAS issuing, monitoring and reporting requirements.-Liaise with senior management, departmental course and admissions staff, international recruiters, agents, students, the UK Visa and Immigration Service (including the Premium Customer Service Team), UKCISA, the ATAS team, the Overseas Visitors Records Office and British Diplomatic Posts overseas in relation to immigration issues.-Attend University promotional events to present current information on issues affecting international students and immigration regulations. -Update publications such as the University prospectuses and student guides to ensure that information provided on immigration and international student issues is accurate and up to date.-Maintain internal and external websites where information is carried about international student support that is offered at the University. -Assist with the organisation and running of the International Student Welcome event and other relevant start of term actitives, including registration.
