I am delighted to share that I have joined Squire Patton Boggs as an Associate in the Environmental, Safety and Health team. I am excited to practise alongside highly skilled and experienced professionals in environmental, health and safety law and ESG matters following my recent Environmental & Energy Law Masters degree (LLM) and 'Carbon Net Zero in Business'. I took a long career break to support HM Forces as an army spouse and mother - now very happy to return to work in these critical sectors - I feel passionate and compelled to concentrate my knowledge and energy to ensure that our one shared beautiful world will be preserved for this and future generations.My previous legal and commercial experience and skills:• Commercial contracts and agreements• ESG• Climate change mitigation/adaption solutions and biodiversity including water projects• Environmental policies and regulations • LLM topics: all renewables; nuclear; O&G; finance; regulations; pollution (research/commercial case study assignments).Dissertation topic: 'The alignment of ESG initiatives with corporate sector investment to attain SDG14 and SDG15.• Impact and risk awareness including compliance, legal, supply chain, environmental, energy, finance, sustainability, security• Energy regulations and finance • Plastic pollution and solutions• Carbon emissions and markets • Legal research and analytical skillsBusiness Leadership and project management skills: • Team player/builder and project management from early career corporate, legal and commercial roles. • Developed and managed IP portfolios, worked with stakeholders, established governance and quality compliance processes. • Maintained business skills and experience by founding/operating own businesses during career break (2004 - present). • Supported, educated and volunteered with local communities in UK and Africa for several projects, including fundraising.Other skills: • Motivated, adaptable and comfortable working at all levels, with a proven problem-solving ability and driven to always complete a project. • Pragmatic, grounded and enthusiastic with global awareness and understanding from different life experiences, particularly in Africa.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
