HYSOLCHEM - an EU funded research project - brings artificial photosynthesis to wastewater treatment by developing an innovative, low-cost photoreactor to convert greenhouse gas into sustainable fuels and chemicals, while oxidizing microplastics and organic pollutants in wastewater using solar energy.PANIWATER - an Eu-India collaborative research and innovation project - addresses the issue of people collecting their drinking water directly from the surface water sources, particularly prominent in water-stressed areas, such as India. There are 6 prototypes to be developed in the project: three of them produce irrigation water from wastewater and greywater and other three of them produce drinking water from unsafe water

Research ProjectHysolchem Jun 2021 - PresentThe development of light-driven technologies represents a RADICAL NEW WAY for the conversion and storage of renewable energy. The Project focuses on the successful development of a new concept of low-cost flow photo-reactor prototype for the reduction of CO2 and N2 to produce fuels and chemicals (CH4, C2H4, C3H6 and NH3) coupled to the oxidation of microplastics and organic pollutants from wastewater treatment plants. In order to reach these ambitious objectives, HySolChem investigates CO2 valorisation strategies, artificial photosynthesis, N2 fixation and degradation of water pollutants. The validation of the prototype is in a wastewater treatment plant and a study of the developed materials and devices from a life-cycle environmental, economic and social point of view is also carried out. -
Research ProjectPaniwater_Eu Jan 2020 - PresentPANIWATER - a research and innovation project, funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 and co-funded by the Indian Department of Science and Technology under the Indo-EU Water cooperation framework - is developing six technologies for water treatment suitable for the removal of CECs. The overall goal is to increase the availability of safe drinking water to the minimum level recommended by the WHO (at least 7.5 L/person/day) in the target communities, and to obtain total wastewater treatment capacity of at least 10000L /day, producing irrigation-grade, CEC-free, treated water.
