I assisted in computational modeling of individual neurons and neuronal networks at the University of Missouri–Columbia Neural Engineering Laboratory. This is through the National Science Foundation's Research Experiences for Undergraduates program.

I assisted in qualitative survey/interview analysis and manuscript writing at the University of Minnesota Biology Learning and Teaching Lab. The study I worked on involves biology undergraduates’ beliefs about creativity, its role in science, and its impact on their career interests.
